The site also offers services such as premium travel, hotels, shopping, nightlife, health and beauty, golf lessons and private charters. Excluzen offers exclusive experiences to its members.

Adgully caught up with Urvashi Sahay CEO & Founder of Excluzen.com to get more insights about the company.

She says, “At Excluzen.com, you will find superbly crafted offers that are, quite simply, unavailable elsewhere on the web.” Speaking about the potential that was seen to enter into this domain, she says, “Excluzen was born to fill in the gap of quality products and services in the online space. There is demand for quality and luxury products in India. For me, as a user, there was hardly any Internet site that gave me quality product or experience. We wanted to capture this opportunity for people living in India.”

Speaking about how Excluzen stands out different in much cluttered space, Sahay told us that Excluzen has the largest collection of the finest brands on the web in India. It offers exclusive experiences which no other online portal offers like personalized charters and yachts, golf session etc.”

She further said, “Some partner brands have never ventured online before or have not associated with other online platforms. We aim to give the best offers from India to people across the globe. Everything can be gifted to friends and family by just 1 click.”

Sahay also adds, the marketing and ad spend for the company is 30‐35 per cent of its investment cost. Excluzen has been doing below‐the line activities like running a contest on its Facebook page.

The online advertising in Excluzen is geared towards a user base outside India. They are targeting 50,000 transactions by end of next fiscal. The company is not following any advertising model but function on profit sharing with their partners where they charge 10‐20 per cent of the product value as commission. They also have an ‘exclusive’ offer every month where a select partner can promote a limited edition product at a premium price and for this service, they charge higher margins.

Sharing the business plan for the year ahead, Sahay said, “Our aim is to target not only the retailers but also the corporate world. We want to achieve 50,000 customers (transactions) in 2012. When asked about the tie‐ups/partnerships they are looking at in the near future, Sahay told us that they are soon going to expand sections on the website and new categories such as, Art, Holidays and Exclusive section will be added. She adds , “We are also looking at magazine advertising.”

Excluzen works with a limited, hand‐picked set of Partners of impeccable repute in the world of luxury and are committed to showcasing exceptional quality at sensible prices. The website is committed to showcasing exceptional quality at sensible prices.
